It seems like my last post was just a few days ago, but I see that time really does fly when you are having fun as it's actually been over 2 weeks.... so here's what I've been up to...
Had an amazing time at the cottage Canada Day (July 1 - July 5) yes it rained and the weather wasn't 30 degrees and sunny, however I can appreciate that it was what it was. I spent the first day at an amazing Holistic Spa in Bancroft called Grail Springs (www.grailsprings.com) with Mommy for her Bday. Friday was spent sleeping and reading... reading a great book called Waiting for Autumn (written by Daily Om creator Scott Blum) You can read the first 3 chapters online if you want to Click here to download 3 chapters of Waiting for Autumn .
Spending time at the cottage with my family is by far one of the most fulfilling ways for me to spend my time... it is my sacred place!
After having almost a week off from work, this past week was super packed with lots of fun filled work events and social events with my friends!
Monday was tuff, getting back into the swing of things took some effort, but really I am not complaining, because my career provides me with the vehicle to meet so many amazing people... It's up to me to focus on the benefits, the gifts and leave the rest behind. So Monday was catch up at work day and Monday night I had a meeting followed by a gathering with my closest friends (Happy Bday Carri). Then I snuck into the mall and bought myself two new outfits for work (ya know to help me get back into the swing of things) ;)
Tuesday - work - attended networking event in the Shwa (Power of Women Exchange) www.powe.ca - this was a fantastic event hosted by Chapter Director Connie Beck and it was fundraiser for a great charity organization RENEWED STRENGTH (they Provide strength and mobility training to men and women recovering from chemotherapy, radiation therapy and/or cancer surgery through specially designed DVD's, Video's and free classes) and they are opening a new YOGA STUDIO in Ajax that will be free to Cancer Patients!!! http://www.renewedstrength.ca/. I won a very nice basket with some beautiful items for my new home!!! Can this really be called work?? Can we not come up with a new name for it? Like Play? That fits better!
Tuesday night.... Very cool get together with 3 friends - Full moon Meditation - it was the Blessing Moon so we took the time to reflect on all the amazing gifts we had received since our last get together in the Spring... we also launched our new goals and desires. I personally have a huge dream in action and can't wait to see how it unfolds!!!
Wednesday - Jennifer Hough event at Toronto Botanical Gardens.... Ok if any of you know me at all, you know that I LOOOOOOOVE Jennifer Hough (www.thevitalyou.com) Jennifer is a Best Selling Author, Speaker,
Teacher of The Law of Being, Creator of Get Out of Your Own Way™
& Founder of the Largest Life Make-over Clinic in Canada.
She just makes life soooo simple, effortless and flowy.... I highly recommend her and you can experience her for free too... she has an online radio show with a tonne of great audios for us to enjoy!! When I need to get on a higher vibration, this is a place I can go whether I am at work, at home, or in my car (u can download and burn on cd or to your ipod). It's called Soul Radio http://www.blogtalkradio.com/SoulRadio
I will be roughing it in the great outdoors with her and her dear friend also Amazing - Joe Noonan, on July 24-26 in Algonquin Park! If u wanna come message me!
Thursday - the night I could barely wait for - getting together with my Soul Sisters for our "Book Club". :) What a truly unique bunch of gals we are!!! it was so nice to learn and grow with these women and be in nature and laugh. THIS IS WHAT LIFE IS FOR, to enjoy, to share with others, to love and experience and feel.
Friday - My nephew JACK (who is my favourite person in the world) needed a babysitter so I spent the evening talking jibberish, playing peek a boo and watching Treehouse.... what a perfect ending to a busy week.
Well now that I have been writing for a half hour (at least) I hear that the rain has stopped and the birds are chirping. We just had quite the boomer and I loooooved it, it gave me a chance to slow down, enjoy life. The rain is so needed, and maybe this year it is needed more than ever? Mother Earth knows exactly what her Earth needs, so I try not to question it or complain about it, but appreciate it and all the other gifts that are here for us to enjoy!
Happy Saturday friends, keep shinin (rain or shine).
